For Immediate Release:

ASHLAND, KY (February 23, 2021) – Ashland Credit Union announces plans to raze and prepare the majority of the property located on the 1100 block between Winchester and Carter Avenues in downtown Ashland, KY for use as its new company headquarters.

“The purchase of the former Blue Ribbon Lanes property, is an answer to a problem that all organizations wish to have,” said Larry Lucas, President of Ashland Credit Union. “Ashland Credit Union has been blessed with continued growth over the last seventy-nine years of operation. Thanks to the hard work of our employees and volunteers, and the overwhelming loyalty and support of our members, we have outgrown our current location at 1300 Central Avenue.”

Ashland Credit Union is a not-for-profit and member owned financial institution that has been serving members since 1942.  “ACU’s mission of building lifelong financial relationships to maximize the financial well-being of our members remains our focus”, said Larry Lucas, President. “Our need for additional space shows our continued growth and our success in living our mission. By building for the future, we ensure that we have the resources to be the community’s lifelong financial partner.” In July of 2012, ACU opened membership to the FIVCO area, extending credit union benefits to the local community.

Removal of existing structures on the property is expected to begin soon, with construction to commence as soon as plans for the new facility are finalized. ACU is thrilled with the purchase of this premier downtown location and looks forward to investing in a bright future for their valued members and the city of Ashland.
