Important: Bill Pay Upgrades coming May 10
What you need (and want!) to know about upcoming Bill Pay upgrades

On May 10, 2017, Ashland CU is upgrading Bill Payment processors. The new system will be powered by CheckFree, one of the top bill payment processors in the country. As a result, you will soon have access to more features in Online Bill Pay than ever before!

Before the upgrade takes place, there are a few important points we want to make you aware of that may affect how you use Bill Pay. Please read below for the most important changes and don't miss the FAQ below.

Payment Schedules Are Changing
Instead of choosing between a send date or an arrival date, you will now pick a single Pay Date. What is important to know is that both electronic AND check payments will now be deducted from your account on the pay date you select. You must make sure that the funds are available in your account on the Pay Date to avoid payment issues.

Bill Pay Will Be Unavailable May 10 & 11, 2017
In order to allow for the conversion to take place, bills will not be processed on May 10 or 11. Any payments previously scheduled for these days will be sent on Friday, May 12.

More Options for Managing Your Bills

  • Expedited payment options will be available after the upgrade. There is a fee to use this service.
  • E-Billing will be available for select payees, allowing you to receive a copy of your bill directly via the ACU website.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Why is ACU updating bill payment systems?
A: At ACU we are committed to providing our members a world-class Internet and Mobile banking experience. We feel that the new Bill Pay system is another step towards achieving our goals. We have many more exciting updates planned for the next two years. Bill Pay is just the beginning!

Q: Will all of my current payees and payments still be there in the new system?
A: Yes! We are converting all existing payments and payees from the old system to the new one. This includes any recurring or scheduled payments.

Q: Will I need to update the ACU mobile app once the update is deployed to the App Stores?
A: In most cases your app will automatically update, depending on your device settings. If you manually update your apps, then you will need to launch the update.

Q: Will the screens work differently in the mobile app?
A: Yes. In order to take advantage of the new features, the mobile app will use your device's browser to handle Bill Payment options.

Q: My payee receives payment via check. How long will it take for them to receive my funds?
A: The Pay Date you select is the date that the funds will leave your account. The CheckFree system works behind the scene to ensure that the payee receives your funds the same day as they are withdrawn from your account.

Q: How much does it cost to expedite payments?
A: Standard payments will continue to be 100% FREE. However, members who are in a hurry can choose to expedite their payments for a fee. Overnight checks will be available for a $14.95 charge while same-day electronic payments will be available for $9.95. These are fees that are imposed by the bill processor that ACU is unable to waive.

Q: What is E-Billing? Why do I want it?
A: E-Billing allows you to receive and view your monthly bills directly in the ACU website. It isn't offered by all payees, but for select payees, you'll be able to receive and pay your bill while logged in to the ACU website, rather than downloading your bill from the payee or leaving a messy stack of papers on your desk.
