1) - Call Center Representative - Job # 2016-5919

Overview:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Ashland Credit Union to live out its Mission of "Building lifelong financial relationships in order to maximize the financial well-being of our members, one member at a time.” The Call Center Representative will serve as the first point of contact for our membership by responding to a wide array of inbound support questions via the telephone or thru e-mail regarding credit union products and services.

  • Assure calls are answered within a timely manner and information provided is prompt, detailed and accurate while remaining compliant with all government regulations.
  • Listen attentively to member needs and concerns and offer advice. Research and solve member questions, problems, and complainants concerning their credit union account. Ensure proper follow up on member inquiries when necessary.
  • Offer additional credit union products and services which will improve a member’s financial well-being, when appropriate.
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Assist members with basic loan questions.
  • Perform basic account maintenance.
  • Assist members with remote access to their credit union accounts.
  • Process wire transfer requests.
  • Route calls to appropriate resources, when necessary.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Provide customer education as needed.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma
  • Prior financial institution experience a plus
  • Prior call center or customer service experience
  • Strong relationship building, communication and listening skills

2) - Collection Specialist - Job # 2016-5877

Description:

Ashland Credit Union has an immediate opening for a Collection Specialist in Ashland, Kentucky.

The Collections Specialist (CS) plays a vital role in our efforts to provide excellent service to Ashland Credit Union members, both internal and external. The primary purpose of this position is to assist Ashland Credit Union to live out its Mission, "Building lifelong financial relationships in order to maximize the financial well-being of our members, one member at a time." The CS is responsible for the daily tasks associated with collection efforts on past due ACU accounts. The position will assist the Operations Manager with meeting annual delinquency, collection and recovery goals by researching past due accounts and designing an effective collection strategy that helps minimize financial loss to the credit union. Prospective candidates should possess a strong analytical background and effective communication skills. Additional duties include:
  • Maintain accurate files on all past due accounts and provide documentation of all collection methods used to secure payments and remove the accounts from past due status.
  • Contact members and thoroughly document circumstances that led to financial hardship, while making payment arrangements or creating payment schedules that are both beneficial to our members and Ashland Credit Union.
  • Compose correspondence in accordance with all state and federal regulatory guidelines notifying members of our intent to collect funds to satisfy past due obligations.
  • Maintain the ACU repossessed vehicle/foreclosed asset tracking schedule and keep management aware of assets scheduled to be disposed at auction.
  • Track members who have filed bankruptcy, and ensure that all collection efforts on these accounts adhere to all state and federal bankruptcy guidelines.
  • Facilitate claims process for debt protection products.
  • Meet all established service goals set by Management.

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated individual to fill a Full-Time position as an Accountant.

Description:
This is an entry level position where the primary purpose is to assist the Ashland Credit Union to live out its Mission of "Building lifelong financial relationships in order to maximize the financial well-being of our members, one member at a time." The Accountant performs tasks necessary to balance and update general ledger and subsidiary accounts, maintain and reconcile cash accounts daily, and manage other accounting-related duties.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • High degree of accuracy with attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States

Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all activities are processed in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare, pay, and file all accounts payable for the credit union. Research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain all required records necessary for properly filing year end 1099-MISC forms and oversee the filing of said forms.
  • Journalize all necessary transactions and ensure general ledger is in balance daily.
  • Analyze and reconcile various general ledger account activity.
  • Perform a variety of activities to assist the Accounting manager in maintaining the financial, statistical, and accounting records of the credit union.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Research and respond to member questions while providing member education if necessary
  • Follow approved ACU retention practices, including the scanning of accounting related documents into the credit union’s document imaging system.
  • Update job specific procedures as necessary to reflect current operations, reviewing annually at a minimum.
  • Strictly adhere to all ACU policies, procedures and applicable state and federal compliance standards to protect our members and the credit union from financial harm.
