The Ashland Credit Union ("ACU" or the "Credit Union"), serving individuals who are or have previously been employees of Ashland Inc. Information We Collect
In general, the ACU collects only that information which is necessary to provide you with the services you request. This may include names and addresses, tax identification number and any additional items you authorize, such as income and expense information and credit history. We may also collect verification of your identity, such as your driver’s license number, mother’s maiden name or PIN number (on our automated system) to protect the security of your account.
Access to Your Account
Other than a temporary outage due to equipment malfunctions, you will always have access to your personal Credit Union information. As a member of the Credit Union, you will always have the opportunity to review your information and to make changes to ensure that records are complete and accurate.
Sharing Information
The Credit Union will share information only to administer the products and services provided, when required to do so by legal government order or when we partner with other businesses to offer a broader array of products and services. The Credit Union will partner only with other businesses that follow strict confidentiality requirements. Under no circumstances will the Credit Union authorize these firms to charge your account without your consent. The ACU will not sell member information to telemarketing firms, or will it partner to share your information with any other services such as mail houses, etc. Providers will have access to your information only as necessary to complete the transaction(s) that you have requested.
Credit Bureau
Information may be exchanged with credit bureaus and similar organizations, only when legally required or permitted.
Legal Process
If we receive a subpoena or similar legal process demanding release of any information about you, the ACU will generally attempt to notify you (unless we believe we are prohibited from doing so). Except as required by law or as otherwise described above, the ACU does not share information with other parties, including government agencies.
Disclosures of Information About Former Members
Upon termination of membership with the Credit Union, information about your account will not be shared with others, except as permitted or required by law.

OPT-OUT NOTICE You have a choice when it comes to how your personal information is used. Any member of our Credit Union may elect to keep information from being shared with our business partners, as permitted by law. We will take all reasonable steps to make sure your request is followed and at least once a year we will remind you of your right to choose. Note to non-member joint account holders: Anyone of you may exercise the right to opt-out, even if you are not actually a member of the Credit Union. The ACU will treat an opt-out request from any one party to an account as if all parties to such account directed us to not make disclosures to nonaffiliated third parties to which the opt-out right applies. |
